Ivanov is an ex-PFC Pirin 1922 player. He moved to
PFC CSKA Sofia in 2005. He isBulgaria n under 21 player.As a player ofPFC CSKA Sofia he was aBulgarian Cup winner in 2006 and Bulgarian Super Cup winner of the same year. Ivan Ivanov is considered as one of the big Bulgarian football talents. Inaugust 2007 he went on loan toLokomotiv Plovdiv . In winter2008 it was reported in the Bulgaria media that he was a target for English sideDerby County F.C. . Now Ivanov is again playing withPFC CSKA Sofia . He was in the starting line-up vs. Litex Lovech in the match for the Supercup of Bulgaria, wich they won with 1:0. On19 September 2008 Ivanov scored his first goal for CSKA against Minyor Pernik. He scored goal with head in the 67th minute. The result of the match was a 2:0 win for CSKA.National Team
