John Ortberg, Jr. (born May 5, 1957, Rockford, Illinois) is the senior pastor of [http://www.mppcfamily.org/app/w_page.php Menlo Park Presbyterian Church] http://johnortberg.com/bio.php] in Menlo Park, California, an evangelical church with over 4,000 members. He is a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary including a Master of Divinity degree and doctorate in clinical psychology. He is best known for his award-winning books on Christian living released through Zondervan Publishing. He formerly served as a teaching pastor at megachurch Willow Creek Community Church in Barrington, Illinois.

A central theme of his teaching and books is spiritual formation, the transforming of human character through authentic experiences with God.

Ortberg has notably spoken out in favor of the recent TNIV translation of the Bible as well as for the Renovaré renewal movement.

Rev. Ortberg was the 2007 commencement speaker at Westmont College.
