Pin Valley National Park is located in the cold desert area of the
Spiti valley , in theLahul and Spiti district within theIndia n state ofHimachal Pradesh . Tibetan culture is prevalent in the area surrounding the park, visible in the Buddhistlama s,shrine s, monasteries, and culture of its residents.Flora and fauna
Because of the park's high altitude and extreme temperatures, the vegetation in the area is scant, consisting mostly of alpine
tree s and patches ofHimalayan cedar . In summer, rare birds like theHimalayan snowcock ,chukar ,snow partridge andsnowfinch flourish in the area. The park's unexplored higher reaches and slopes are habitats for a number of endangeredmammal s including thesnow leopard andSiberian ibex .References
