Elena Pucić-Sorkočević

Countess Elena Pucić-Sorkočević, also Elena Pozza-Sorgo, (1786 - 1865), she was born with the name of Elena Lujza Ragnina (Ranjina), married with Nikola Lucijan Pucić-Sorkočević (1772-1855), they have two children; Marina, who married with Mateo Natali and Lucian Puvić-Sorkočević.Elena was the first female composer in the Republic of Ragusa (Republic of Dubrovnik), located in today's southern Croatia. After the fall of the Republic, musical performances were mostly held in private houses of the noble families.
