- House of Pucić
The Pucić or Pozza family were an old noble family from the
Republic of Ragusa , with origins inDalmatia andItaly . The Emperor Leopold I, granted the title of Count and the predicate "Di Zagorie" (of Zagorje - Dalmatian hinterland Fact|date=April 2007) on20 September 1688 to Mateo (or Matthäus) Pucić/Pozza, son of Lucian Pucić/Pozza and Marija Bunić/Bona. Later, during the national revivalism of the 19th century, some members of the family officially denounced the name "Pozza", preferring to use "Pucić" (seeNiko Pucić andMedo Pucić ) in recognition of a Slavonic ethnicity.They are considered to be one of the most prestigious families of theRepublic of Ragusa .Genealogy
"Mateo Pucić/Pozza" (+1708) and "Marija Bunić/Bona" had two sons:
*1) "Lucian", died 1752 who had a son Mattäus (died 1771 childless inVienna );
*2) "Nikola Mateo (Matthäus)", born11 August 1684 , died 1745, married in1 November 1727 with Magdalena v. Gucić/Gozze; father of three sons was, those evenly so many lines donated:
*A)" Matthäus Nicolaus", born21 June 1728 , died c.1801, married in Dubrovnik17 April 1768 with "Marija Magdalena Vincenca de Bondić/Bonda" (14 April 1738), sons:
*a) "Nicolaus Domenicus", born22 October 1771 , died c.1818, unmarried.
*b) "Marin Mateo (Matthäus)", born6 September 1774 , died c.1818 unmarried.
*c) "Marina", date of born and death unknown.
*d) "Marija", date of born and death unknown, married with Nikolaus Graf Pozza.
*e) "Lucian Joachem Dominik Vincenc", born20 August 1780 , married with "Marina Marija Antonia Alojzija Sorkočević/Sorgo"(born13 September 1795 ); attained first confirm of his old aristocracy after the fall of Republic in1 December 1817 , the other two Pucić/Pozza were confirmed30 November 1817 the ennobling and then k. k. *"Marija Domenika" (3 August 1820 , +21 April 1866 ), who married with "Wenzel Ritter v. Ziegler" (k.k Landesgeriches) born inGraz 11 October 1810 and died inTrieste 4 September 1896 . They had one son:* "Luzian v. Ziegler-Pozza", born in Cattaro/Kotor
