William H. Bourland (1811–1860) was a politician in the

Battle of Village Creek on24 May 1841 in what is now Tarrant County.Bourland represented Lamar County in the Eighth and Ninth Congresses of the Republic of Texas (1843–1845), and introduced the legislation that incorporated Paris, the county seat of Lamar County, on
3 February 1845 .After the annexation of Texas into the
United States , Bourland represented the county in the First andSecond Texas Legislature s.
