This is a list of members of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1981 to 1984:

:1 Lismore MLA Bruce Duncan was elected as a representative of the National Party, but resigned from the party during this term. He served out the remainder of his term as an independent.:2 Drummoyne ALP MLA Michael Maher resigned on January 26, 1982. ALP candidate John Murray won the resulting by-election in April.:3 Marrickville ALP MLA Tom Cahill died on June 23, 1983. ALP candidate Andrew Refshauge won the resulting by-election in October.:4 Riverstone ALP MLA Tony Johnson resigned on July 20, 1983. ALP candidate Richard Amery won the resulting by-election in October.:5 Kogarah ALP MLA Bill Crabtree resigned on July 23, 1983. ALP candidate Brian Langton won the resulting by-election in October.:6 Maroubra ALP MLA Bill Haigh resigned on August 9, 1983. ALP candidate Bob Carr won the resulting by-election in October.
