The A43 autoroute is a motorway in eastern
France . Travelling through the westernAlps it is also known as the "Autoroute alpine" or "Autoroute de la Maurienne". It connectsLyon withSaint-Jean-de-Maurienne andModane (Tunnel du Fréjus) to "Italy" andTurin . It is operated by AREA and SFTRF. It opened in phases between 1973 and 1998.Characteristics
