A41 autoroute (France)

The A41 autoroute is a motorway in the French Alps. Also known as the "L'Alpine". It opened in 1981. The road connects Grenoble and the A40. It is made of two sections separated by the N201 and A43 autoroute at Chambéry.

* 1975 : Opened the section between Annecy and Rumilly
* 1977 : Opened the section between Chambéry and Annecy
* 1978 : Opened the section between Grenoble and Chambéry
* 1981 : Junction with the A40 autoroute.

Future Extensions

The A41 is to be extended to Geneva. A new section Saint-Julien-en-Genevois to Villy-le-Pelloux 19km long was given to ADELAC to project manage on 27 October 2005. The major engineering project is the "Tunnel du Mont-Sion" (3,100 m). The road is due to open in December 2008.

At that date the old A41 to Bonneville will be re-numbered the A410.
