Bill Conlin is an American sportswriter and longtime columnist for the
Philadelphia Daily News . Prior to joining the Daily News, he wrote for thePhiladelphia Bulletin . He is a member ofBaseball Writers Association of America and a voter for the Baseball Hall of Fame. Conlin drew criticism when he admitted that he didn't vote for pitcherNolan Ryan on his Hall of Fame ballot. He used to appear regularly onESPN 'sThe Sports Reporters , a Sunday morning show of debate among American newspaper columnists.He is a 1970 graduate of
Temple University in Philadelphia, where he worked forThe Temple News , its noted community newspaper.In November 2007, Conlin drew the ire of internet bloggers after quipping in an email that “the only positive thing I can think of about Hitler's time on earth-I'm sure he would have eliminated all bloggers." In June 2008 Conlin once again caused a stir of controversy when he said in response to an e-mail from Raul in Vineland, NJ on DNL "I'm surprised that guy would leave the blueberry harvests to send that off." Conlin has since been suspended from DNL and will not be back on air upon further review.
