He was elected as a Democrat to the98th United States Congress and to the six succeeding Congresses. He served fromJanuary 3 ,1983 untilJanuary 3 ,1997 . He was not a candidate for re-election to the105th United States Congress .Ronald Coleman attended the public schools of El Paso and graduated with a
Bachelor of Arts degree from theUniversity of Texas in 1963. In 1967, he graduated with aJ.D. from theUniversity of Texas School of Law . He attended theUniversity of Kent inCanterbury ,England in 1981. From 1967 to 1969, he was acaptain in theUnited States Army . In 1967, he also worked as a teacher in El Paso public schools.Ronald Coleman worked as a legislative assistant in the Texas House and Senate. In 1969, he was admitted to the Texas bar, and he commenced practice in El Paso. From 1969 until 1973, he was an assistant county attorney for
El Paso County, Texas . He was elected to the Texas House of Representatives and served from 1973 until 1983. In 1974, he was a delegate to the Texas Constitutional Convention.External links
