Singapore competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.

=Athletics=

Neither Singaporean athlete managed to progress beyond the opening round of their competition.

Men's 100 metres:
* Poh Seng Song:*Round 1 — 10.75 s (7th in heat 1, did not advance, 62nd overall)

Women's Shot Put:
* Zhang Guirong :*Qualification — 16.58 m (11th in Group A, did not advance, 24th overall)


=Badminton=

World #1 Lin Dan of China had an unfortunate draw by getting Singapore's world #9 Ronald Susilo in the first round. Susilo dismissed Lin in straight sets, then beat his German opponent in the second round. He lost the first set 15-10 to his Thai opponent in the quarters, and then fell apart, losing the second set 15-1 and ending his Olympic run two matches short of a medal spot. The two women entrants were not as successful against their first round matches against Chinese opposition.

Siong's highest finish was 18th, in the final race, and never cracked the top 30 in the overall rankings.

Men's Trap:

=Swimming=

None of the five Singaporean swimmers in Athens made it out of their openign heat, with the best performance being a 19th in the 200 metre IM from Joscelin Yeo.

Men's 100 metre Freestyle:

=Table Tennis=

Two Singaporean women made the quarterfinals, including 8th ranked Li. In the quarters, Li easily dismissed 2000 Olympic champion and 2003 World champion Wang Nan of China in four sets. In the semis, she faced an unheralded North Korean opponent, and stormed out to a three-sets-to-one lead, only to end up losing in four sets. In the bronze medal match, she won the first set, then lost the next three, ending up in fourth place. Overall, the Singaporean team put together a 9-6 record in Athens.
