Traditionally used: As a common use in traditional Italian medicine in the region of Bergamo. Bergamont has been used in the Middle East for several hundreds of years for skin conditions associated with an oily complexion, acne, urinary tract infection, cleansing the bladder, depression, and other ailments. Bergamont is stilled used commonly for flavouring in teas and common ailments in Persia (present day Iran). Bergamont is responsible for the distinctive flavor of the common Earl Grey Tea, and was used in the first genuine Eau de Cologne, a perfume of France.
Used for: Stress, loss of appetite, indigestion, agitation, depression, infection, inflammation, intestinal parasites, rheumatism, insomnia, vaginal candida, and as an insect repellent., urinary tract infection, bladder infection, trouble urinating, acne,anxiety

Topical Application: Diffuse, apply to forehead, on temples, and on location of stings and bites. Apply where you would as a deodorant.
Internal Use: May be added to food or water as a dietary supplement in very small and diluted amounts, For example: 2-3 drops of pure Bergamont oil to every 1 quart of consumable fluid or food. As with any oil extract, any more than this in the form of pure oil (aromatherapy oil) can be dangerous and possibly fatal, although the plant form of Bergamont itself is perfectly safe to eat and drink. Jams and candies are also commonly made from this fragrant and citric plant. The fragrance and taste of the Bergamont flower is similar to that of Bee Balm, also called Melissa Balm (Melissa Officialis) and Looks similar as well.
