Ted Roach was a fictional character from the long running ITV drama "The Bill". He was played by Tony Scannell from 1984 to 1993.

Biography

Ted served at Sun Hill for nearly ten years. He later resigned after he punched Inspector Andrew Monroe in the face during an argument at the station. Another reason for his resignation was PC Dave Quinnan and PC Tony Stamp catching Ted in a fight when they were called out to the pub, the fight took place at Oxford earlier the same day as Punching Monroe, he fought with another man, Mark Leonard, over one of Ted's many ex-girlfriends (Lisa Bright,a WPC with the Thames Valley Police), whom Ted was jealous of. He then became a private detective and, years later, helped out at Sun Hill by assisting Jim Carver with a murder case. Unfortunately, he was later killed in a hit-and-run incident.DCI Jack Meadows & retired Officers Bob Cryer & Alec Peters represented the station at Ted's Funeral.
