- Johann Ferdinand Hertodt
Johann Ferdinand Hertodt von Todtenfeld (1645-1724) [Dates from [http://www.sci.muni.cz/botany/historie/hist_1.htm] (Czech language); name is given there as Hertod.] was a German physician and writer, born in
Niclasbourg ,Moravia .He is known for his 1671 work "Crocologia", entirely devoted to
saffron . He was also analchemical writer, in the "Epistolam contra Philalethem" [He used a pseudonym, Orpheus.
