The Video and the Lyrics
"The Curse of Curves" is told from the cheating but charming husband's point of view. In the video, the husband and wife lead a charmed but empty life. The husband is convinced that his charm can get him out of trouble and that his wife is shallow.
"I want someone provocative and talkative / But it's so hard when you're shallow as a shower"
He considers himself charming and gifted while he looks at women's curves as a thing meant to plague him.
"I've got the gift of one liners / And you've got the curse of curves"
It becomes clear that his affairs have been no secret to the wife and that there may have been altercations between them in the past. He blames her jealousy and calls her greedy.
"It seems I'm too hip to keep tight lipped / And you're on the gossip team / You're making something out of nothing / And jealousy's the cousin, the cousin of greed"
The video shows a large dinner party and flashbacks to three times he has cheated on her with various female party guests. The dinner party guests seem happy and the three women look provocatively at the host while the hostess looks extremely fed up with her husband's obvious scandals. The husband appears smug throughout the party and toward the end of the video raises a glass in a toast to the party. The scorned wife raises her glass with a bittersweet look on her face. The husband raises his glass and drinks from it, makes a face and falls backward in his chair. The wife smiles. He is presumed dead.
The music video cuts out the last two seconds of the song, and it ends with the wife smiling.
