Next = Apocrypha"Piper Maru" is the fifteenth episode of the third season of the television series "The X-Files". When a French salvage ship sends a diving crew to recover a mysterious wreckage from World War II, the crew falls prey to a bizarre illness and Agents Mulder and Scully join the investigation. * The title, "Piper Maru", which refers to the name of the salvage ship in the episode, is derived from the name of Gillian Anderson's daughter Piper Maru Anderson-Klotz.
* Michael Bublé guest starred in this episode; however he was uncredited. He was a sailor in Commander Johanson's memory.
* In the movie "Alien vs. Predator", the crew arrive in Antarctica on an ice breaker called "Piper Maru".
