] Dorsey specializes in Commercial litigation and is a founder of Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights.

After earning his Bachelor's degree at Yale (1974), Dorsey served as an officer (First Lieutenant) in the United States Marine Corps (1975-1977). He earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Virginia School of Law in 1981 and has been admitted to the bar in West Virginia, Minnesota and the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. Dorsey also worked in the Minnesota Office of Drug Policy (1989-91) on the formulation and implementation of state drug strategy.

Dorsey came forward when the Center for Constitutional Rights called for lawyers to provide pro bono support to the Guantanamo captives.cite news
