* In one scene, an Irish sailor implies that his friends were killed by the
Black and Tans . The Black and Tans were not formed until 1920, four years after the sinking of the Britannic.* When the U-Boat makes an attack upon the Britannic, a naval officer mentions that a ship, the "
HMS Victoria ", is coming to their assistance. There was no British ship at this time named Victoria; the last having been sunk in 1893.* At the end of the film, a
Dreadnought -style ship (presumably the fictional "Victoria" once again) is seen approaching the lifeboats to pick up the survivors. The survivors of the Britannic were picked up by Greek fisherman, and not by a warship.* During the film, a
U-boat is seen following the Britannic. Although speculation has been made about whether the Britannic was sunk by torpedo or by a naval mine (now proven to have been the latter), it would have been impossible for a submarine to have followed the Britannic without being sighted by the lookouts.* The submarine in the film follows the Britannic constantly and remains submerged almost indefinitely, which would be impossible without occasional surfacing for air or stops for refueling.
* The Britannic did not sink at sunrise. She sank at 9:07am.
