Arthur Carter Whitney (January 2, 1905 - September 1, 1987), born in San Antonio, Texas, was a third baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies (1928-33 and 1936-39) and Boston Braves/Boston Bees (1933-36).

He was named to the 1936 National League All-Star Team.

Whitney finished 18th in voting for the 1928 National League MVP for playing in 151 Games and having 585 At Bats, 73 Runs, 176 Hits, 35 Doubles, 4 Triples, 10 Home Runs, 103 RBI, 3 Stolen Bases, 36 Walks, .301 Batting Average, .342 On-base percentage, .426 Slugging Percentage, 249 Total Bases and 14 Sacrifice Hits.

He finished 20th in voting for the 1929 NL MVP for playing in 154 Games and had 612 At Bats, 89 Runs, 200 Hits, 43 Doubles, 14 Triples, 8 Home Runs, 115 RBI, 7 Stolen Bases, 61 Walks, .327 Batting Average, .390 On-base percentage, .482 Slugging Percentage, 295 Total Bases and 22 Sacrifice Hits.
