Master of Music degrees at theShepherd School of Music ,Rice University ,Houston, Texas , where he studied classical violin with Kenneth Goldsmith.Carrettin has toured
Europe with theBergen Philharmonic Orchestra , played numerous solo performances withOrchestra X including new works on electric violin, and has performed concertos on baroque violin with theAmerican Bach Soloists ,Camerata Pacifica , and many other ensembles.He has been composer-in-residence with the aerial vertical dance troupe,
Project Bandaloop , and has toured extensively with them in the U.S.,South America , andEurope , including opening forThe Black Crows , Cake,David Lee Roth , andRay Charles . He was a founder of the cutting edgeTango-Nuevo band,Los Peregrinos , and performed at theFestivale Oriente-Occidente inItaly , at theSan Luis Obispo Mozart Festival , and for countless events, including those forMeyer Sound ,The Venetian ,General Motors ,Resorts Casino ,Gore-Tex , and for the openings of the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts and theDayton Center for the Performing Arts .His own arrangement of
Vivaldi ’s “La Folia ” was premiered at theSan Francisco War Memorial Opera House , and his music forAmelia Rudolph ’s aerial ballet, “Crossing”, was premiered at theKennedy Center .He has played nearly one hundred cities internationally as violinist for
Yanni and appears with the orchestra on the 2006 live album and video, "Yanni Live! The Concert Event ".Carrettin composes new work for acoustic and electronic instruments, and collaborates with dance and film. He is involved in an ongoing project of resurrecting the lost music of eighteenth-century Venetian composers.
