Ron Steele is a
television news anchor forNBC affiliate KWWL inWaterloo, Iowa [ [http://www.kwwl.com/Station/index.php KWWL TV :: Waterloo, IA - News Team ] ] .Steele was born in
Washington, Iowa in1950 . He learned his trade at theUniversity of Iowa , graduating in1973 .Steele joined KWWL in
1974 as the station'ssports director. He presently anchors the 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00 PM weeknight editions of KWWL News.Steele's assignments have taken him to national political conventions, the
Olympic Games , and theHeisman Trophy presentation. He reported from theWhite House whenIran released 52 U.S. hostages in1981 , and fromSaudi Arabia when thePersian Gulf War broke out. During the 2004 Presidential campaign, he interviewedPresident George W. Bush aboardAir Force One .Steele and his wife, Candy, have three grown children and reside in
Hudson, Iowa .Steele also teaches Writing in Electronic Media at the University of Northern Iowa.
