Ron Steele

Ron Steele is a television news anchor for NBC affiliate KWWL in Waterloo, Iowa [ [http://www.kwwl.com/Station/index.php KWWL TV :: Waterloo, IA - News Team ] ] .

Steele was born in Washington, Iowa in 1950. He learned his trade at the University of Iowa, graduating in 1973.

Steele joined KWWL in 1974 as the station's sports director. He presently anchors the 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00 PM weeknight editions of KWWL News.

Steele's assignments have taken him to national political conventions, the Olympic Games, and the Heisman Trophy presentation. He reported from the White House when Iran released 52 U.S. hostages in 1981, and from Saudi Arabia when the Persian Gulf War broke out. During the 2004 Presidential campaign, he interviewed President George W. Bush aboard Air Force One.

Steele and his wife, Candy, have three grown children and reside in Hudson, Iowa.

Steele also teaches Writing in Electronic Media at the University of Northern Iowa.
