Ross Anderson (skier)

Ross Anderson is a Native American speed skier. He Broke the former Native American Indian record in 1997 with a speed of 137.86 mph flying by The the former fastest American Indian record holder held by Stew Young from the tulalip tribe with a speed of 131.73 mph at Les Arcs France 1997." On April 19, 2006 he set a new page in recorded history by being the fastest alpine skier from the Western Hemisphere, at 154.06 mph (247.93 km/h); this places him 9th in the world all-time ranking. Anderson's heritage includes Cheyenne/Arapaho, Mescalero Apache, and choctaw origin. He grew up in Durango, Colorado.
