Taiei Kin (Korean: 김태영, Hanja: 金泰泳; born July 8, 1970) is a professional Korean-Japanese Light heavyweight karateka, kickboxer and mixed martial artist competing in K-1 and DREAM.

Before switching to MMA, Kin was a distinguished fighter in the K-1 scene, praised by both Peter Aerts and Ernesto Hoost as the best fighter to come out of Asia. [http://www.mfight.co.kr/news/viewbody_ex.php?code=mfight_board_news&number=6523]

Since 2006, he works also as coach for Choi Hong-man.

Biography

He started practicing Karate in very early age and turned pro when he was 18. He enrolled in Chousen University in Tokyo, and joined a karate club there. Later he participated in a Sato Juku tournament, where he met Kancho Ishii who offered him to come to Osaka to train with him after he graduated. In the event, he lost to Nobuaki Kakuda.
