Raghubir Singh also known as Raghubir Singh Khatu was a renowned
photographer of India.He was born in 1942 in athakur family atKhatu nearJaipur inRajasthan .After his education in Jaipur and at
Hindu College ofDelhi , he went toCalcutta to make a career in the tea industry. By this time, he had started amateur photography. It is said thatSatyajit Ray had initially found his photographs 'without guts'. Young Raghubir took it as a challenge and pursued photography wholeheartedly and more vigorously .In the 1970s, Raghubir moved to Paris and during three decades of rigorous training and exposure, he carved his own niche in international photography with a series of portfolio of colour photography on India.He was awarded
Padma Shri in 1983. He was also awarded the Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh Award (posthumously) 27th October 2001 .In 1972 he married Anne de Henning Michaelis. He died on 18th April 1999. He daughter's name is Devika Singh.Raghubir Singh always described himself as a pupil of Fr. Willmes in photography.He had published many books.
