"Raghubir Yadav (Raghuvir Yadav) is an Indian Actor, most known as the role of the drug addicted "Chillum" in Salaam Bombay! (1988) and in recent film, (2004).

BiographyHe spent earlier years of his life in(Ranjhi), Jabalpur one of the prominent city in Madhya Pradesh.He ran away from home and joined the Parsi Theatre Company at the age of fifteen.Later he moved to Delhi, where he joined the National School of Drama (NSD), and graduated in 1977.

He made his film debut with Massey Sahib (1985) in which he played the title role of Massey. The film also started, noted writer and social activist, Arundhati Roy. Soon he was seen in many art films in coming decades.

He also starred in the milestone films like Laagan (2001) and Water (2005).

Yadav started his television career with the TV series "Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne" (1990), playing the lead character 'Mungerilal' . Later he played the roles of Haji Nasruddin in series 'Mulla Nasiruddin' and also played the lead in Chacha Chaudhary. Perhaps it is this Indian actor who has the credit of getting three films nominated for academy awards best foreign language film(Salaam Bombay, Laagan, & Water) from 2 different countries(India & Canada).

Raghubir Yadav is incidentally the only Indian Actor to have received the Silver Peacock BestActor Award,IIFI at the International Film Festival of India.
