End of The Carpenters

To promote "Made in America", Karen and Richard Carpenter appeared on several talk shows in 1981 [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0139389/] , including "Good Morning America" on August 10, and "The Merv Griffin Show" on October 2, performing "(Want You) Back in My Life Again". Karen was noticeably emaciated during both appearances, as she was seriously ill with anorexia nervosa at the time. The illness eventually took her life on February 4, 1983.
