Benjamin Lloyd Stormont Mancroft, 3rd Baron Mancroft (born
16 May 1957 ) is a British peer,businessman ,politician and former heroin addict [ [http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article3462808.ece Times On Line] ] .The son of the 2nd Baron Mancroft and Diana Lloyd, he was educated at
Eton College ,Berkshire . In 1987, he succeeded to his father's titles and became one of the ninetyhereditary peer s elected to remain in theHouse of Lords after theHouse of Lords Act 1999 .Between 1987 and 1998, Mancroft was joint master of the
Vale of White Horse Fox Hounds and is chair ofAddiction Recovery Foundation since 1989. He was director ofPhoenix House Housing Association from 1991 to 1996 and vice-chairman from 1992 to 1996. He was further deputy chair of theBritish Field Sports Society from 1992 and 1997, President of theAlliance of Independent Retailers from 1996 to 2000 and is chair of theDrug and Alcohol Foundation since 1994. Since 1997, he is director ofCountryside Alliance and since 2005 vice-chairman.Mancroft has been Chairman of
Inter Lotto since 1995 and was Chairman ofScratch-n-Win Lotteries from 1995 to 1998. He is non-executive director ofSt Martin's Magazines plc and ofRok Corporation since 2003. Arthur Louis Stormont Mancroft , and one daughter.In February 2008, Mancroft claimed that NHS nurses who had treated him at the
Royal United Hospital in Bath were "grubby, drunken and promiscuous". The hospital's Chief Executive, James Scott, called the accusations "damaging and distressing", and requested that the peer retract them. Mancroft has so far refused to do this, or to apologise.
