Jonathan Wells (cricketer)

Jonathan Wells (cricketer)

Jonathan Wells (born August 13, 1988 in Hobart, Tasmania) is an Australian cricket player, who plays for the Tasmanian Tigers and, at club level, the Clarence District Cricket Club.

Despite his youth, Jonathan earned a call-up to the Tigers' senior line-up in 2006 due to his impressive form in representative sides over the previous seasons.

Jonathan was the 2004/05 Tasmanian U/17 "Player of the Championships", and was also the 2005 National U/17 "Player of the Championships". He gained selection in the 2006 U/19 World Cup Australian Squad of 30 and the Tasmanian 2nd XI in 2005/06.

On a rookie contract for the second year, "Wells will be looking for strong performances in the Cricket Australia Cup as he attempts to break into the strong Tigers batting line-up".
