Walter Tkaczuk (born
September 29 ,1947 in Emsdetten,Germany ) was anOHA hockey player for the Kitchener Rangers from 1963-64 to 1967-68. During his last season with Kitchener, he was given the chance to play two games with theNew York Rangers . Spending most of the following season withNew York , Tkaczuk played 5 games with theBuffalo Bisons of the AHL.The 1969-70 season was Walter's first entire season in the NHL; he went on to play the remainder of his NHL career (13 seasons with the Rangers - 1968-69 to 1980-81).
Tkaczuk played a total of 945 NHL regular season games, scored 227 goals and had 451 assists for a total of 678 points, and 554 penalty minutes.

Bill Chadwick , he was a tireless determined digger when it comes to fighting for loose pucks in the corner. Says Chadwick: "There aren't many centres who'll work as hard in those corners than the way he does".
