Víctor Jara (Geografía) was an album released by
Victor Jarain 1966. This album was subsequently reissued with the title 'Canto a Lo Humano' with different covers in Spain, Germanyand Mexico. It was Jara's first solo studio album and it included some of his most popular songs: 'El arado', 'El cigaritto' and 'Paloma quiero contarte.
He was the most important new artist during the year of
1966on our DEMON label. Since he released "El cigarrito" and "La cocinerita", he was established as the most able figure in our folkloricfield.
guitarist, expressive voice, ductile personality; Victor Jarawas characterized from the first moment for his extraordinary capacity to translate via his personality the folkloric styles that are found throughout our human geography.
In this, his first recording, his artistic attributes are clearly displayed and it is difficult for one to decide whether to be more enthusiastic about his song-writing or his capacity as a singer and guitarist. That choice is left to you, albeit, this duality is an aspect of one sole real entity. For DEMON it was a real honor to contribute to our music folklore this splendid personality.
