- September Stakes
The September Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in the
United Kingdom open tothoroughbred s which are three-years-old or above. It is run over a distance of 1 mile and 4 furlongs (2,414 metres) atKempton Park Racecourse , and it takes place annually in early September.Prior to a three year spell at Epsom Downs in the late 1990s the distance of the race was 1 mile 3 furlongs and 30 yards (2,240 metres). The race is presently contested on an all-weather Polytrack surface, but before 2006 it was run on turf.
