- Type 062-I class gunboat
The Type 062-I class gunboat is the successor of the Shanghai-I/II class gunboats. The class is consisted of two versions, the Haizhui class submarine chaser and the Shanghai-III gunboat. Although Type 062-I originated from gunboat, the submarine chaser version is more successful in serving the
People's Liberation Army Navy while the gunboat version is more successful in export market.Haizhui class submarine chaser
Haizhui class submarine chaser is one of the two members of the Chinese Type 062-I class (the other is Shanghai III class gunboat), and it is the ASW version. Due to the commission of larger submarine chasers such as Haijiu class and Haiqing class submarine chasers that are more capable, it unlikely that the production of this class of smaller submarine chaser will be continued.

gunboat Shanghai-III class gunboat is one of the two members of the Chinese Type 062-I class (the other is Haizhui class submarine chaser), and most of the characteristics of the two are same. The Shanghai-III lacks the ASW capability, but is more heavily gunned, with the 23 mm guns replacing the 14.5 mm
heavy machine gun s of its ASW cousin. Unlike its predecessor Shanghai-II class, the Shanghai-III also lacked the mine laying capability, a feature retained on its ASW cousin. More Shanghai-III class gunboats have been in service in foreign navies (all of them are third world countries) than in thePeople's Liberation Army Navy , and the ones in the Chinese inventory are mainly used for training foreign crews, and not all export boats have the same configuration due to different customers’ requirements. They are primarily used for coastal and inland patrol.*Displacement: 170 t
