Babak Hassibi

Babak Hassibi (born in Tehran, Iran) is an Iranian-American electrical engineer who is currently a professor of Electrical Engineering at California Institute of Technology (Caltech).

He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Tehran University in 1989, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1993 and 1996 respectively. He was a member of the technical staff in Mathematics of Communications Research Group at the Bell Laboratories in 1998-2000.
