Marcel Tyberg (1893-1944) was an Austrian composer. His music is late-romantic in style.
Following his studies in Vienna, he settled in Abbazia, where he composed both popular and concert music. His Symphony No. 2 was premiered by his friend Rafael Kubelik with the Czech Philharmonic in the early 1930s. When Germany occupied northern Italy in 1943 Tyberg was arrested and deported to Auschwitz, where he was killed. Hi His Symphony No. 3, completed soon before his detention, was recorded by the Buffalo Philharmonic conducted by JoAnn Falletta in 2008, and released by Naxos Records.
