wallaby found in northernAustralia andNew Guinea . It is the most common wallaby in Australia's north.cite book|last=Menkhorst|first=Peter|year=2001|title=A Field Guide to the Mammals of Australia|publisher=Oxford University Press|pages=110]The Agile Wallaby, as its alternative name implies, is a sandy colour becoming paler below. It is a sociable animal and grazes on grasses and other plants.
There are four subspecies of the Agile Wallaby:
*"M. a. agilis" - the nominate subspecies is found inNorthern Territory ;
*"M. a. jardinii" - this subspecies is found on the northern and eastern coasts ofQueensland ;
*"M. a. nigrescens" - found in the Kimberley andArnhem Land regions ofWestern Australia ;
