Theatre Pro Rata

Theatre Pro Rata is a small, professional theater company operating the in the Twin Cities. The term "Pro Rata" comes from the Latin for "In Proportion." The company describes itself as a "text-based, actor-centered" company, and their productions are marked by an intense focus on the text of the play itself.

Formed in 2000 by husband and wife team Joseph Papke and Carin Bratlie, the company's production of "Trainspotting" was voted the #1 play at the 2002Fact|date=July 2007 Minnesota Fringe Festival. Pro Rata capitalized on this success to produce ever-expanding seasons and has taken up residence in Saint Paul's Loading Dock Theater alongside fellow small theater company Gremlin Theatre.
