FBI Director Robert Swan Mueller III has named John G. Raucci, Assistant Director of the FBI'sHuman Resources Division, who was theSAC in Jackson, Mississippi Field Office. As Assistant Director of HR, Raucci will work closely with the Executive Assistant Director of the newly created Human Resources Branch, to continue the program of change to improve the FBI's human resources function. The Human Resources Division is responsible for the development and implementation of human resources program and services to include recruitment and selection, position management, performance management, executive development and selection, health, employee assistance and employee benefits.An eighteen-year veteran of the FBI, John Raucci was born and raised in
Chicago ,Illinois . He earned both his undergraduate degree (Business Administration ) and hisgraduate degree from colleges in the state ofIllinois , and also earned alaw degree from theDetroit College of Law . Since joining the FBI in 1987 as aSpecial Agent , his field operation assignments have included Phoenix,Arizona ;Detroit ,Michigan ; andChicago ,Illinois , Field Offices During those assignments, Mr. Raucci gained experience in Indian Country violations,Violent crime s, Counterintelligence and Drug matters.Raucci was promoted to FBI Headquarters in 1998 and assigned to the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR). He served there until November 1999, then transferred to the Inspection Division. In July 2000, he was assigned to the Chicago Filed Office as a Field Supervisor over an
Organized Crime Squad, followed by his promotion to Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC), where he managed Chicago's fiveCounterterrorism Squads, O'Hare and Midway Airports and a Resident Agency. In June 2003, he assumed responsibilities as the Chicago Administrative ASAC.In March 2004, Raucci was named Section Chief ofSecurity Operations in the Security Division at FBI Headquarters. Director Mueller appointed him as SAC of the Jackson, Mississippi, Division in November 2006. John Raucci is married and has four children.
