video revolution of the late 1970s/early 1980s, there was a small but devoted market forhome film s in the16 mm ,8 mm , andSuper 8 mm film market. Due to the fact that most individuals in theUSA owningprojectors did not have one equipped with sound, vintagesilent films were particularly well-suited for the market. A number offeature films were released in full-length versions from the 1960s until the market essentially evaporated in the early 1980s with the advent of home video, which made collecting films considerably cheaper.
