Alberta Davis

Alberta Davis was the oldest American claimant, allegedly born December 24, 1881. She died January 27, 2007, allegedly 125 years and 34 days old. Not including immigrants, Alberta has been the oldest ostensible American since 2001, an extraordinarily long time, and the first "125" claim made by a U.S.-born person since 1995. She was African American, and lived in Thomson, Georgia. Despite claims of documentation, the only documents produced have been Social Security records, which are not considered as being proof of birth.Fact|date=November 2007

Census matches for 'Alberta Davis' record one as age 33 in 1930 in the Augusta, Georgia area, and as 23 in 1920 (suggesting a birthdate of December 24, 1896 and an age of 110 if this was her). However, as the family was unable to remember the names of her parents, siblings and even some children, no unequivocal matches have been located.Fact|date=November 2007
