However, it is later revealed that he usually handles most of the research and information that the Black Organization gathers, as when he informs Gin about Shin'ichi being alive, as well as the meeting his arranges in episodes 309-311 ["Detective Conan" Anime: Episode 309-311 .] . Despite his hulking appearance, he is the more easy-going of the two and therefore more suspectible to the traps and diversions which Gin immediately exposes. In File 603, Vodka is actively involved in a mission of chasing the van which contains Kir ["Detective Conan" manga: File 603, Volume 58.] . He and the other members are able to get Kir back.
