Reverend Dr. Eugene O'Callaghan (born 7 January 1888 at Camlough) was a priest in the Diocese of Clogher, ordained on 21 June, 1913. He was appointed the Roman Catholic Bishop of Clogher in Ireland on 30 January 1943, following the death of his predecessor, Dr. Patrick McKenna, on 7 February, 1942. He was ordained bishop on 4 April 1943 [History of Bishop O'Callaghan [http://www.catholic-hierarchy.org/bishop/bocal.html] ] . He retired as bishop on 28 November 1969 having served as Bishop of Clogher for over twenty-six years. He was appointed titular bishop of Britonia [Titular See of Britonia [http://www.catholic-hierarchy.org/diocese/d2b90.html] ] on the same day. He resigned this appointment on 26 January, 1971 and died as Bishop Emeritus of Clogher on 21 May, 1973. Dr. O'Callagah was succeeded by Patrick Mulligan.
