Moldova chose their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 by using a panel of experts selected by TRM, to internally select a song and performer. After a jury narrowed down the 34 valid songs to 3, a professional jury selected Natalia Barbu out of the three remaining options for Helsinki. Natalia defeated Olia Tira and Zdob şi Zdub, who represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005. Natalia won with the song "Fight" which is qritten by Elena Buga and composed by Alexandru Braşoveanu.

Natalia Barbu is a 27 year old Moldovan performer who is building her career and reputation through performances in national festivals and abroad. Her debut album "Intre ieri si azi" was released in 2001, with a follow up in 2003 called "Zbor de dor". Her most successful single was "Ingerul meu".

Prior to the contest, Natalia promoted "Fight" at the Spanish national final, Mision Eurovision. Moldova competed in the semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 10, 2007, winning through the qualifying stage to represent the country in the final. Natalia reached the final of the contest, in the 24th position and last position.

The Moldovan entry finished in tenth position in the final competition.

Due to the low fund of the broadcaster, Natalia used her own funds to go to the contest in Helsinki. TRM paid her the money back, since Natalia achieved a placing in top 10.
