The winner from those 12 was decided on February 24 by televoting only. From this selection, it was decided that Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov should represent Bulgaria with the song "Voda" ("Water"). The duo earned a convincing win as they triumphed by over 26,000 more votes then the song in second place.

Prior to the contest, Elitsa and Stoyan made a promotional tour in countries such as Greece, Croatia, and Serbia. Also, the duo will perform at the "Stars of Europe" concert in Italy, which will present the entry in a number of European nations. At Eurovision, Bulgaria sung in the Bulgarian language for the first time, however the song was presented under the English title, "Water". Bulgaria opened the semi-final, performing in the first position, preceding Israel's Teapacks with "Push The Button". They made it into the final of the competition where they finished in 5th place with 157 points.
