August 17 ,1985 inVancouver, British Columbia ) is a Canadian ice hockey player for theChicago Blackhawks of theNational Hockey League .The right winger led the IceHogs and was fifth in the AHL with 35 goals in his second professional season. He also led the AHL with an IceHogs franchise-record 25 power-play goals, just two shy of the league record. In his third recall to the Chicago Blackhawks and second of his young career, Brouwer recorded his first NHL point, an assist on March 23 against St. Louis. Brouwer also notched five postseason goals in the Calder Cup Playoffs, second most on the IceHogs.
2007-08 Season Notes
Led the AHL and set an IceHogs franchise record with 25 power-play goals. Returned to Rockford on 3/28/08. Returned on loan to Rockford on 3/24/08 and played against Milwaukee before getting recalled to Chicago on 3/25/08. Recalled by Chicago on 3/23/08 and recorded first NHL point with an assist in Chicago's 4-3 overtime with over St. Louis. Had two assists in Rockford's 3-2 win over Peoria on 3/5/08. Set a Rockford single season record with his 18th power-play goal of the season on 3/1/08 against Providence. Re-called to Chicago on 1/5/08. Had a goal and an assist in Rockford's 5-4 win over Chicago on 1/4/08. Played in his 100th career game on 12/27/08 at Chicago. Tallied his 100th career professional point with a goal on 12/16/07 at San Antonio in Rockford's 4-3 SOL. Played in his 100th career pro game on 12/5/07 against Syracuse. Potted a pair of goals in Rockford's 5-3 loss on 11/23/07 agasint Quad City. Had a goal and an assist, including the game winning goal, in Rockford's 5-1 win at Grand Rapids on 10/20/07. Registered a goal and an assist on 10/19/07 at Chicago in a 5-4 overtime loss. Assisted on the first ever goal in IceHogs AHL history on 10/6/07 at Quad City.
Career Notes
Winner of the Bob Clarke Trophy as the WHL's leading scorer in 2005-06 with 102 points. Led Moose Jaw in goals (49), assists (53), and points (102) in '05-'06, his final junior season. Also the team captain for Moose Jaw in '05-'06.
