Jim Tolmie

Jim Tolmie was a Scottish footballer who played for Manchester City between 22 July, 1983 and 1986.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland on 21st November, 1960, he was signed by Billy McNeill for City from Belgium side Lokeren for £30,000. He started his career at Morton and made his senior debut on 28th October, 1978. Then he was sold to Lokeren in 1981, playing 18 games without scoring before returning to Scotland in 1983.

Jim was the third signing in nine days made by Billy McNeill who had just joined City himself from Celtic. Derek Parlane and Neil McNab were the other two signings made as City tried to get back up to Division One as it was then after being relegated by Luton Town on Saturday 14th May, 1983.

He left Manchester City and spent a summer playing in Sweden with Markaryds IF, before returning to Morton in 1991. He retired in 1994.
