1993 Malaysian constitutional crisis concerned the limitation of monarchs' power in the Malaysia. In 1992, a hockey coach Douglas Gomez was beaten by Sultan Iskandar of Johor. Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad later challenged the immunities of the monarch which resulted in constitution amendment that limit the power and immunities of Malay monarchs. [Philip Bowring.
