Excel Central School

Excel Central School is a co-educational "English Medium School" which is situated 1 km west to Thiruvattar. By following the council for the Indian Certificate Examination, ICSE syllabus the school provides a broad and balanced modern curriculum. The Administration of the school is vested with the Centre for Education and Research Trust which is non-profit making rural educational institution.

The school has entered into a joint venture with New Delhi based ISO 9001 certified Pearls International School, with a view of introducing new techniques and educational technology with the existing educational standards.

Location and Establishment

This institution was established in the academic year 2003-04. It is located at Auwai Ealakkarai, a hamlet situated 1 km west to Thiruvattar on the Charoor-Thiruvattar road in a serene, evergreen highland. The campus covers about convert|6|acre|m2. It is also located 1.5 km south-east to Moovattumugam, the converging point of River Kothai and River Pahrali.

Teaching Systems and Faculty

The teaching staff includes both montessori trained staff and experienced professionals. Application orinted teaching techniques is configured to strengthen the children's knowledge and to make class room-learning come alive . The campus activities motivate the minds of children towards learning, effective competence, social conscience, self-discipline, enquiring mind, etc. Learning is made fun here through visual imagery, group activity, drawing, dramatic plays, story telling etc. The teacher /children ratio is 1:15 till Std 5 and 1:25 for 6 and above, pupil are encouraged to work to the best of their own ability and this ensures, each child receiving individual attention so as to achieve their maximum potential. Apart from the academic schedule, the institution encourages each child to involve in sports, games, arts&crafts, music &dance, field visits and other co-curricular activities.

English Language Development Programme

Since all incoming children are not very familiar with English, the non-native language, the first step taken is to provide good training to develop their fundamental knowledge of English. The school is committed to help students achieve their personal and professional goals. It provides a wide range of student services including Counselling, and coaching for the scholarship programmes. The trust runs a pre-school for children of the age group between 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 years and the institution caters to the educational needs of the children of the age ranging from 3 1/2 years.

Transport to and from school can be arranged for children on payment according to the distance of residence from School. Uniform and books will be supplied by the school before it re-opens.

Office hours

The school office functions from 9.00 A.M. To 5.30 P.M. Parents can meet the principal at any time during office hours. The office will remain closed on Sundays and other Public Holidays.
