- Gamm Theatre
The Sandra Feinstien Gamm Theatre is a small theater in
Pawtucket, Rhode Island .About the Gamm Theatre
The Gamm Theatre was founded in 1984 by seven members of the graduating class of Trinity Rep Conservatory and was then called Alias Stage.
Little more than five years had passed when a fire forced the actors out of their original space in an old mill. Thankfully, support from the public allowed them to move to a second mill location.
In 1998, the theatre accepted a donation from
Alan Shawn Feinstein and it was renamed the Sandra Feinstein Gamm Theatre, for his beloved sister. The theatre was becoming very popular and the 75 seat house that was currently in use was not enough. The theater staff searched for a new venue and found one in Pawtucket. It was the Pawtucket Armory Annex. In 2003, the new season at their new home opened with "
A Child's Christmas in Wales " byDylan Thomas .Soon, The Gamm Theatre became a member ofNew England Area Theatre , a bargaining unit ofActor's Equity Association .The theatre has acquired much praise and support from theCity of Pawtucket , subscribers, and fans.Artistic and Managing Directors
