Baile na nGall or Ballydavid is a
Gaeltacht village in theArd na Caithne region of theDingle Peninsula ofCounty Kerry, Ireland . As the 2003 Official Languages Act revoked the status of theEnglish language name "Ballydavid", this community's only official name is "Baile na nGall". The village is home toGallarus Castle , a15th century tower built by theKnight of Kerry , the holder of ahereditary knighthood belonging to the Geraldine Dynasty. It is now an Irish heritage site and stands about 1 km away from the better known (and more historically significant)Gallarus Oratory .RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta has a broadcast studio located in Baile na nGall. The radio tower is also a transmission site forRTÉ Network Limited .Ballydavid Head, a "Marilyn" in this area, has a relative height of 247
